Welcome to the 2015 Share Your World challenge! I am excited to get started on this one right at week 1.
How do you get rid of pesky phone calls from telemarketers?
I just never ever, I mean EVER answer them! Sometimes they are persistent for awhile but they stop. It will be quiet for a few weeks and then they try again. And if you wonder, YES we are on the Do Not Call list! Imagine if we weren’t! I wish political calls could be added to that! The phone rang off the hook last election cycle.
What are you a “natural” at doing?
Hopefully, writing. Cooking and baking come naturally to me. Empathy comes naturally to me….although, I guess that isn’t actually, naturally ‘doing’ something. Is it? I am a natural at figuring things out. For example: I wanted to make a t-shirt quilt for a benefit and had no clue. I think it turned out pretty good for not knowing what I was doing! I had to figure out how to do a second one, too as the shirts were not uniform in size.
My son just reminded me that I am a natural worrier! He is more than right!
How often do you get a haircut?
I get a small trim every 7-8 weeks because I am there for other things! (What, you thought this color was natural?) When I was younger, my mom cut my hair short. I disliked it greatly. In 6th grade I started growing my hair and didn’t get it cut again for YEARS. It was the same way after I lost it all during treatment. Once it started growing, I let it for awhile. Because I COULD!
What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word “fun”?
Traveling! Anywhere… LOVE New York City. LOVE traveling to places I have never been before. Nothing more fun than that! I love experiencing places new to me, shops, restaurants, and people!
Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
Last week we celebrated our 29th anniversary, as you know. I am grateful that we are both healthy and here to celebrate it!
I am looking forward to staying inside and keeping warm out of the below zero temperatures and winter storm we are expecting!
Great questions!! http://www.modernruralliving.com/2015/01/05/share-world-2015-week-1/
Fun challenge, isn’t it?! Love your answers!
They really are!! Glad i stumbled upon you and beth ann doing it. 🙂
Gah… didn’t mean to paste that link in!! My internet is all screwy. I meant to say… LOOOVE those T-Shirt quilts and you taught yourself?! that is amazing!! I made one once but had a friend help me. 🙂 You rock!!
Hey I am glad you did paste it! 🙂 I did those as I sat and made them. It was fun… thanks!
Happy Belated Anniversary! Thanks so much for playing this week and sharing your answers. 🙂
Thanks! I look forward to it!
Happy Anniversary! The T-shirt quilts are cool.. my sis-in-law made one for her daughter. She said it was quite a bit of work. It’s cold in our bit of country too! Stay warm!
Thank you! They are a bit of work, but fun to make! Will try to stay warm-tonight is the coldest night yet!!
North Iowa Bloggers–you must be friends with Beth Ann! Nice to meet you. My mom kept my hair short, too, and I let mine grow, too, once I was the one responsible for taking care of it. I use “taking care” loosely, as I ironed it (with the clothes iron) to get it straight-ish. More like fried! Nice travel shot, and you did a nice job on your quilts.
Thank you. Yes I know Beth Ann! I remembering people ironing their hair with the iron…mine was already so straight I didn’t have to!
Empathy is so very important, it seems to come naturally to so few.
That is true and that is too bad!!
